Visualizing Data Using the New ASP.NET Chart Control
(WUX13H)
This lab is intended for developers who are responsible for building applications using Microsoft ASP.NET. You begin this lab by adding a basic chart to an ASP.NET application and binding it to the existing data. Then you modify the default visual appearance and layout style of the chart. Following this, learn some advanced features of the chart, such as preventing label collisions, adding axis scale breaks and displaying moving average for the bound chart data. Upon completion of this lab, you will have learned about the features available in the new ASP.NET Chart control and how to use them in your applications.

Application Development with the ADO.NET Entity Framework in the Microsoft .NET Framework 4
(DTL20H)
Come learn about the features that the Entity Framework team is adding to enable five key scenarios: Model First (starting from your model description and generate your backend database), support for custom code generation through the usage of T4 Templates, Mockability and Testing, Persistence Ignorance, and N-Tier support with the Entity Framework and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). In the lab you first design your model and then generate the database and classes. Once the objects have been created you use them to execute queries against your database, make changes, and persist changes to the database. Then use a T4 Template that generates an Object Context that implements an interface and use that to mock and write tests. Finally, revise the T4 Template to generate custom objects (without the standard Entity Framework dependencies). With code generation, testing, and CRUD completed, learn how to build applications that can exchange the state of graphs tracked by the Entity Framework across tiers.
